About Jack
Jack O’Grady is a Western Australian surf, action-sports and lifestyle photographer who grew up in Fremantle. Known for photographing from within the water, Jack captures surfing with an instinctive understanding of timing, movement and the ocean.
His work takes him across some of surfing’s most distinctive environments. He spends much of the year in Indonesia’s Mentawai Islands, producing photography and video for surf resorts, charter boats, private clients and international brands. He also works as a photographer and guide in Niseko, Japan, documenting surfing, snowboarding and life in the mountains.
Jack’s portfolio extends beyond peak-action surfing to travel, hospitality, fashion, music and documentary storytelling. In 2025, he was named a finalist in the Australian Surf Photo of the Year for an image combining surfing and heavy snowfall on Japan’s northern coastline.
