About Arswandaru
Arswandaru Cahyo is an Indonesian illustrator and designer. Born in Surakarta, Central Java, and the son of a painter, he grew up in cities including Yogyakarta and Jakarta, spending his school hours skateboarding and drawing, something he still does every day. Surfing came later, along with a move to Bali.
His graphic, line-based surf and skate illustration mixes beach-life imagery with a punk, do-it-yourself spirit, often featuring skulls, palm trees, grim reapers and psychedelic lettering. He has worked across skate decks, T-shirts and music posters, and The Critical Slide Society brought him in to hand-illustrate the imagery for their 'Greetings From' release.
