About Daniel
Daniel Joyce, known as Joiko, is a self-taught illustrator working from Swansea on the New South Wales coast. He works in graphite pencil, portraiture, hand-painted surfboards and large panoramic canvases.
His surf landscapes trace the breaks around Newcastle and beyond, from Merewether and Treachery to Puerto Escondido's Mexican Pipeline, and his painted boards carry local spots such as Merewether and Currumbin Alley. He has also produced cover art for Surfest and painted murals across the region.
