About Juliette
Juliette Goux is a French illustrator and the artist behind Les Rideuses. Born in Paris, she spent eight years as a chef before living in Mexico and Argentina, where she worked as a photographer at surf and bodyboard events. During the 2020 lockdowns she returned to drawing, and Les Rideuses grew from there.
Working digitally on an iPad, she illustrates the everyday lives of women who ride waves, often drawing on memories of Puerto Escondido and a road trip in her VW T2. Her colourful, pastel-toned work now comes from her workshop in Mimizan, on the Landes coast of south-west France.
