About Ty
Ty Williams is an artist, designer and surfer based in Maine. Working in ink and paint, he draws on surfing the Maine coastline and trips to tropical surf spots, having spent part of his childhood in the US Virgin Islands. His loose, fast line work, gangly figures in motion, tropical colours and wry, text-based pieces run through everything from sumi ink drawings to acrylic paintings on linen.
His clients include Patagonia, Nike SB, Burton, Grain Surfboards, Billabong and The Surfer's Journal, and he has painted murals as far afield as Japan, Hawaii, Greece and Sri Lanka. His homes in Maine and Florida have both featured in Indoek's Surf Shacks series.
